Sustainable cities and communities: FWCI

Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) is a key metric used to evaluate the influence of research within its respective field by normalizing citation counts across disciplines. This presentation explores how FWCI can be applied to measure the impact of research on Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11), which focuses on creating inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities. By analyzing FWCI trends, researchers and policymakers can identify high-impact studies, allocate resources effectively, and foster collaborations that enhance urban sustainability. The session will highlight best practices for increasing research visibility, improving interdisciplinary engagement, and translating academic knowledge into real-world sustainable urban development strategies.
