It should be cost-effective, ensuring that rent or mortgage, utilities, and maintenance are affordable, and ideally located close to the workplace to reduce commuting time and expenses, improving work-life balance. The housing must also meet basic standards of quality and safety, with proper ventilation, plumbing, and structural integrity, and incorporate sustainability by using energy-efficient materials and designs to reduce long-term costs. Additionally, affordable housing programs should be inclusive, providing options for low- and middle-income employees, fostering a diverse and productive workforce. This holistic approach helps reduce financial stress, increase employee satisfaction, and promote better retention and overall well-being.
