Presenter Name: Asst. Prof. Dr. Aso Faiez
On Monday 5/5/2025, in Civil Engineering Department with the presence of the Head of the Civil Engineering Department and a number of academic staff, a seminar entitled (Use of medical waste in asphalt mixtures) was presented by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Aso Faiez). The use of medical waste in asphalt mixtures is an innovative approach to recycling hazardous materials while enhancing pavement performance. Certain types of sterilized medical waste, such as plastic syringes or gloves, can be processed and added to asphalt to improve its durability and flexibility. This not only helps reduce the volume of medical waste in landfills but also offers a sustainable alternative in road construction. Proper treatment and handling are essential to ensure safety and environmental compliance in this process.
