Abstract : Due to the widespread use of solar energy in recent times, detecting damage in photovoltaic panels has become a major focus for researchers worldwide. Consequently, Image processing techniques have emerged as an effective and widely appealing approach for identifying defects and faults in these panels. This paper is a review study that explains:
- The different types of damage in photovoltaic (PV) panels
- How these damages can be detected using image processing and computer vision techniques
- Importance of the Study
- Solar panels are exposed to various defects such as cracks and overheating
- Early detection is essential to:
- Maintain energy efficiency
- Extend system lifespan
