Seminar title:Common Mistakes in Earthquake Construction
Date:28/4/2026

The Kurdistan Region is located within a seismically active zone, making it essential to consider earthquake effects in the design and construction of engineering projects.
This presentation, titled “Common Mistakes in Earthquake Construction,” highlights critical mistakes frequently observed in both the design and construction phases. These include inadequate structural configuration, poor detailing of reinforcement, insufficient consideration of soil–structure interaction, and lack of compliance with seismic design principles. Such mistakes can lead to moderate to severe hazards during earthquake events, including structural instability, partial or total collapse, and loss of functionality.

The presentation aims adopting proper seismic design practices and quality construction methods to enhance the resilience and safety of structures in earthquake-prone regions.
