Introduction: Diversion structure is constructed (with coffer dam) under the dam to convey water from upstream to the downstream of the construction area to make the construction area dry. During working two flow condition was observed in the channel, at the beginning the structure worked as open channel Manning equation could be applied, after the crest was submerged the structure is worked as orifice action and the flow become pressurized flow. From the case study it was observed that after 0.8 H the diversion is worked as orifice action.Water resources department
