Mental Spaces Theory

Mental Spaces Theory (MST), developed by Gilles Fauconnier, is a cognitive framework explaining how humans construct meaning and process language by building small, interconnected mental “spaces” rather than one massive, absolute model of reality. These spaces are temporary, partial cognitive structures representing beliefs, hypothetical worlds, and contexts that get updated as we think or talk.
